Lute Back

Kazuo Yairi crafted this guitar because he believed that the domed back would yield a sound and volume of unique quality...but only if the materials used were in harmony with the shape.

Eleven pieces each of mahogany, rosewood and maple, shaped and finished by hand, compose the domed back. Traditional Canadian Spruce is used on the top and the braces are acoustically "tuned" to balance the tonal property of each instrument. The ebony bridge and fingerboard are of the highest quality. The herringbone inlay around the body and sound hole is hand crafted perfection.
